Faroe Petroleum Norge, recently acquired by DNO, has completed two appraisal wells on the Brasse discovery in the northern Norwegian North Sea. Both wells were drilled in 124 m water depth in production license 740, 10 km south of the Brage field and 120 km west of Bergen. According to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate, the first well was dry. However, well 31/7-3 A intersected a 15-m gas column and a 47-m oil column in the Sognefjord formation, with an oil/water contact 20 m deeper than in the discovery well.
