The Energy Institute (EI) has named Jim Skea as its president-elect. He will begin his term in June 2015. Skea is currently a professor of sustainable energy at the Centre for Environmental Policy at Imperial College London and a Research Councils UK Energy Strategy Fellow. He was named an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for services to sustainable transport in 2004 and a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for services to sustainable energy in 2013. In 2010, Skea received EI’s Melchett Award for his contribution to the global energy sector. He holds a BS in mathematical physics from the University of Edinburgh and a PhD from the University of Cambridge.
