Tom Walters, president at ExxonMobil Production Company, has announced his retirement effective 1 January 2017. Walters joined Exxon in 1978 and has held a variety of technical and managerial positions in production, operations, development, and global services. He was appointed vice president for Exxon Mobil Development's African operations in 1992 and vice president for ExxonMobil Production in the US in 2002. In 2005, Walters was named president of ExxonMobil Global Services Company in 2005 and executive vice president of ExxonMobil Development in 2007. In 2009, he became president of ExxonMobil Gas & Power Marketing Company. In 2013, he was appointed to his current position.
Walters holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University and a master's degree in ocean engineering from Texas A&M University.
