Oldham's iTrans2 infrared gas detector employs an intelligent electronics platform to provide 1 or 2 points of detection from a single head. With its optional Highway Addressable Remote Transducer (HART) communication protocol, the detector provides remote diagnostics, set-up, or calibration by superimposing a high frequency current across a 4-20 mA analog line. Its infrared sensor detects explosive gases such as methane, butane, propane, ethylene, and hexane in sever environmental conditions, where the presence of poisons could harm the use of a catalytic cell. It can also be configured with a 0-100% volume methane infrared sensor for bio-gas applications and carbon dioxide infrared sensors ranging from 0.5% volume to 100% volume. With optional on-board relays, the detector is capable of standalone operation, activating alarms, horns, or fans and shutting down a system without the need to wire back to a central control panel.
