Derrick O'Keeffe was named head of Division for Safety and Integrity at the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management (NOPSEMA), Australia's offshore oil and gas regulator. In this role, he will ensure regulatory requirements around the occupational health and safety of the offshore oil and gas workforce are met. O'Keeffe held various roles at the National Offshroe Petroleum Safety Authority before joining NOPSEMA following its 2012 founding. He has served as a country manager at Murphy Oil, chief operating officer at Strike Energy, and business manager at Woodside.
O'Keeffe holds a bachelor of science degree from Loughborough University of Technology and a master of business administration from Cranfield University.
