Jean-François Saint-Marcoux won the 2017 SPE Projects, Facilities, and Construction Award. Saint-Marcouxis an industry consultant. He spent 40 years working in engineering and engineering management, with a specialty in flow assurance and hydrodynamics, contributing to the design of deepwater riser systems. After 2 years with Cameron as a wellhead engineer, he joined ETPM first as a topsides project engineer and later as manager of engineering. He chaired numerous in-house project expert committees, including Total Girassol, Pazflor and CLOV, ExxonMobil Ehra, Shell Bonga, BP Greater Plutonio, and Petrobras Guara Sapihnoa. Saint-Marcoux has served as a member of the board of SPE-France and a member of the OTC programming committee. He holds an ingénieur degree from Ecole Centrale de Lyon, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech, and a docteur-ingénieur degree in physical oceanography from UPMC Sorbonne Universités.
