Tony Fernandez, SPE, was appointed vice president of Jefferies LLC’s energy investment banking group. Fernandez will work in the company’s Houston office as a technical lead in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. His last assignment before joining Jefferies was as reservoir engineer for Noble Energy’s deepwater Cyprus assets in the Eastern Mediterranean. Prior positions include petroleum engineer at RSK [UK] and associate corporate economic analyst at Valero Energy. Fernandez has received four SPE section and regional awards and is serving in several volunteer capacities. He is on the board of the SPE Gulf Coast Section Young Professionals group and serves as 2015 editor-in-chief for the SPE publication The Way Ahead. A licensed professional engineer in the state of Texas, Fernandez earned a BS degree in economics at Duke University and an MS degree in petroleum engineering at Texas A&M University.
