OptiLift’s Motion Reporter is a decision support tool that equips crane operators with information about the actual motion of supply vessels during lifting. It collects real-time vessel movements that identify the wave height on deck, which often varies on different parts of a vessel. The unit uses a laser and a camera to generate 3D models of supply vessels without sensors or the instrumentation required to be on the vessel itself, allowing for faster uptime in lifting operations. It reports the relative velocity between the boom tip and ship floor in real time. The boom tip location is projected onto a video image to avoid lifting with an off-lead or a side-lead angle.
