Ang Liu is a Ph.D Candidate in the Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University. He is working under the supervision of Dr. Shimin Liu.
Ang has been working on the challenging issue of multi-mechanistic gas/water transport in intact reservoirs and the much more difficult task of completely de/reconstructed reservoirs – he has mastered geomechanics, transport characteristics and high-level characterization techniques to make an impact in his research studies. He has been unusually productive – having published over fifteen papers in top-rated international journals and conferences related to the oil and gas industry especially for someone only two years into his program.
He has rich experiences on the proposal development both for external funding and the beam time for various agencies and beam institutions. He visions himself as future research and teacher and he is consistently preparing his teaching and instructing skills during his Ph.D. study. He served as teaching assistant for four different courses at Penn State. Based on the students’ comments, he has been developed excellent communication skills for effective teaching.
