Shell’s van Beurden Ranked No.2 in CEOWorld 2019 Best CEOs List

The “Best CEOs in the World 2019: Most Influential Chief Executives” list recently published by CEOWorld, a business magazine and news site for CEOs, CFOs, and senior executives, ranked several oil and gas CEOs in the top 10 positions of the list.

The list ranked Walmart CEO Douglas McMillon as No.1, followed by Royal Dutch Shell’s Chief Executive Ben van Beurden in No.2, after assesing more than 1,200 CEOs across 96 countries and several industries. 

The 2019 rankings placed Saudi Aramco CEO Amin H. Nasser in the fourth spot; BP’s chief executive Bob Dudley in fifth, and ExxonMobil CEO Darren Woods in sixth places. The ninth and tenth positions are held by Apple CEO Tim Cook and Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffet. Out of 121 best CEOs listed, Chevron CEO Michael K. Wirth was ranked twentieth.

CEOWorld's assessment process takes a long view of business performance, and is primarily based on the financial returns for the CEO’s entire tenure, which makes up 60% of the final ranking. The company’s track record on environmental, governance, and social issues, as well as market shares, change of market capitalization, and brand’s newsworthiness and impact are factored in for rest of the 40% ranking.
