SPE Liquids-Rich Basins Conference - North America 21 - 22 Sep 2016 The Petroleum Club Midland, Texas

New Technology for Old Plays

Hydrocarbon resources within liquids-rich basins have been long highly prized in our industry, first as engines for economic growth, and now as life rafts for financial survival. The last two years have presented ever increasing challenges to our industry for building production and reserves while retaining profitability. Economic success in operating and producing these resources relies not only upon an understanding of reservoir characteristics and the proper application of completion, stimulation, and production techniques, but also close attention to cost control.

This conference will feature a mix of presentations and formal papers. Topics will focus on asset development and operations practices, as well as implementation of economic strategies involving survivability and positioning for the eventual economic upturn.

Speakers and paper presenters will offer case histories on the revolution that has turned source-rock into reservoirs, created new paradigms for “tight oil” development, and changed global markets. We encourage engineers of all disciplines, operations, and management personnel, and all within the geological fields, to attend.

We look forward to seeing you!
