Thank you for attending the SPE Workshop.

Plan your attendance to other SPE events in your region or technical area.

Mature fields contribute to around two-thirds of the global daily average oil production, but in India this percentage is even higher. The frequency of major discoveries has been declining steadily for the last few decades, and the significance of mature fields is increasing over time. Globally, oil discoveries are at a 70-year low, and low discovery rates are expected to continue.

Challenges facing mature field redevelopment and optimisation include integrating new wells and/or projects within current facilities or to add new facilities to the existing ones, increasing water production, maintenance and remediation costs, souring of reservoirs, and handling EOR-related emulsions and/or corrosive fluids. However, these adversities are being met with innovation and intellect, leading to enhanced production and value creation.

This workshop provides a forum for participants to share ideas and knowledge regarding the latest techniques and innovations plus optimised costs for tapping the unrealised potential of mature fields. Experiences gained from this workshop will help in developing the vision and knowledge required for implementation of cutting-edge techniques and technologies for maximising economic recovery from ageing fields.
