SPE Workshop: Tracer Technology – Improving Asset Value 14 - 15 Oct 2020 Jumeirah at Etihad Towers Abu Dhabi, UAE

Due to ongoing global public health concerns, and following extensive consultation with our key partners and stakeholders, the SPE Workshop: Tracer Technology will be rescheduled to 14-15 October 2020, at the Jumeirah Etihad Towers Hotel.

The workshop committee is committed to delivering a rich technical programme with participants from around the globe. We will be contacting all speakers, sponsors and delegates with regards to the new arrangements.

Thank you for your understanding of these complex circumstances.

In this two-day workshop, operators will share lessons learned from multiple case studies and roundtables, offering a chance to shape future technology development while service companies will share the newest emerging tracer technologies. Individual sessions will cover a number of topics including tracer use during EOR, the application of tracer technology for improved reservoir management, establishing the value of tracer information, new commercial technologies, and breakout group discussions.

This workshop is an excellent opportunity for networking and information sharing among reservoir engineers, petroleum engineers, geoscientists, completion engineers, as well as those investigating reservoir measurements, and well productivity within academia.

With political and economic uncertainty clouding the foreseeable future, the need for value-driven decision making becomes even more critical for operators globally. The pressure to reassess the cost structure of field developments, to maximise production, and to minimise cost has become a common refrain for an industry used to boom-and-bust. Yet for those responsible for decision-making, the information necessary to drive critical choices continues to be difficult to obtain.

Understanding the reservoir and the way production/completion decisions affect it are often reliant on tools that are expensive to use, difficult to operate, or provide only a limited ‘snapshot’ of well conditions.

The exception to this is chemical tracers, a passive measurement tool that offers insight into the well and reservoir over time, and at reasonable cost. In the SPE tracer workshop 2020, engineers, scientists, and other global professionals have an opportunity to come together, explore, and share the latest and most comprehensive understanding of tracer applications.
