Brazil has vast resources still untapped in its mature field assets. Improved technologies and best practices are needed to further realize value. Recovery factors are low in many of the mature fields in the Campos basin and other locations. Globally, the average recovery rate is around 35% and in Brazil it is 21%. Increasing recovery factor by 5% is equivalent to adding 500mboe to reserves.
Cost reduction strategies and technologies are paramount to help extend useful field life and maximize reserves.
