SKK Migas is assigned to manage the Upstream Oil and Gas Activities under a Cooperation Contract. The year 2021 marks over 123 years of our business in the country, beginning in 1898 with the Company's first marketing office opened in Java. Then in 1912, the Standard Oil Company of New Jersey started its exploration activities in Sumatera. Following our journey in 1968 as one of the first Production Sharing Contract contractors for the North Sumatera Offshore and B blocks in Aceh, we continue our commitment to support Indonesia in meeting its energy demands as the operator for the Cepu Block in East Java in 2005. The Banyu Urip oil field in Cepu Block has produced up to 220,000 barrels of oil per day or contributed around 30 percent to the country's national oil production, making ExxonMobil, through its subsidiary, ExxonMobil Cepu Limited, the largest crude oil producer in Indonesia.

HCML has set its vision to be the biggest gas producer in East Java and the operator of choice in Indonesia. To achieve its vision, HCML continuously strives to deliver values to its stakeholders through excellent operation in oil and gas business with strong commitment to ethics, health, safety, and environment.  Currently HCML is producing gas around 100 MMSCFD from its BD field in Sampang Regency and is expecting to triple its production in the next two to three years by producing more gas from MDA-MBH-MDK (3M) field and MAC field in Sumenep Regency. Meanwhile, the development of 3M and MAC fields are being undertaken.

In Indonesia, Repsol present in Upstream business with mineral rights to seven blocks covers Sakakemang, Andaman III, South East Jambi, South Sakakemang, Aru, West Papua IV, and have 36% participating interest in Corridor Block. The current development in Sakakemang Block consist of Kaliberau Dalam field, where Repsol and its partner have made the largest gas discovery in Indonesia in the past 18 years and represents new resources for the Indonesian market that will help fuel economic development.
