About

The Asia Pacific URTeC is a joint effort between the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).

The industry has witnessed an increase in unconventional resource activity and has seen a large amount of shale gas and tight gas potential throughout the Asia Pacific region. Australia has a large amount of unconventional gas and currently unproductive shale gas resources. These deposits have significant production potential.

Despite the ongoing uncertainty brought on by the pandemic and volatile market outlook, the industry must continue to explore innovative technological solutions and address challenges for unconventionals exploration and development and create new prospects for affordable and sustainable supply.
