This SPE forum was for management and team members focused on exploiting the Delaware Basin

The current era in unconventionals reflects the industry’s opportunistic development mode with the increasing focus on cash flow over-growth. The journey started more than 15 years ago with technology enablement to produce and develop reservoirs once thought not recoverable – reserves were king, and capital was easy to access.  It has been a steep learning curve for the industry while growing production from 5 to about 13 MM barrels per day and drilling roughly 200,000 horizontal wells across several basins.

Estimates from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Delaware Basin support a potential in-place oil volume in excess of 40 billion barrels. This is a staggering amount of oil for Industry to target, whose production will provide accessible energy for decades to come.

This SPE forum was for management and team members focused on exploiting the Delaware Basin. Session 1 focused on topics around learning from the past developments. Session 2 touched on topics related to the existing wells. Session 3 covered future well development while the last session covered the future and future options.
