Letter from the Conference Chair

Dear Colleagues,

SPE and the Programme Committee of industry experts bring you 2-days of cutting-edge technical content, an exhibition to ensure you and your company stay competitive and of course, a series of networking opportunities to help you stay connected with your peers! During these challenging times we are all experiencing, it has never been more important to keep the oilfield scale community connected.

The SPE International Oilfield Scale Conference and Exhibition has become recognised as one of the world’s leading gatherings for industry professionals and academics involved in the development, implementation and monitoring of controls applied to mitigate oilfield scale in upstream oil and gas production.

Held every two years and returning to its usual in-person format, this event offers an unrivalled opportunity for you to share your challenges and solutions to inorganic scale control from fundamental research to hands-on experience of tackling such challenges in field applications. The technical content is internationally renowned for its high quality and attracts delegates from across a broad spectrum of the global oilfield scale community.

Our technical programme has been generated from over 80 submitted abstracts and reviewed by 22 leading experts in the industry to offer a fresh perspective, first-hand insights, and countless connection opportunities during this event.

Alongside our keynote speakers, Hugh Bourne of BP Exploration Operating Company and Yasmin Hayatgheib of University of Leeds, there are also 21 oral presentations and 22 e-Posters that will be taking place. Some of the topics being discussed include Innovative Solutions to Scale Control, Emerging Chemistries and Technologies, Inorganic Scale Control during CCUS and Case Histories.

We look forward to welcoming you to Scotland in May.

Kindest Regards,

Myles Jordan
