About the Summit

The oil and gas industry has been experiencing the double whammy of flagging demand and volatile market shaped by significant events in 2020. The stagnant economic growth outlook, combined with the spread of the global pandemic, has inevitably crushed demand. Companies are focusing on minimising expenditure to ensure business continuity while safeguarding resources and infrastructure to meet present and future demand when the market recovers. Hence, production and operation excellence coupled with cost optimisation are key technical and strategic business drivers.

Collaborative partnerships amongst operators, service and technology providers, research and development, and academia are crucial to develop technology efficiently, with lower costs. The aim is to achieve optimum ROI and bridging all gaps in an optimised upstream asset management and field development.

This summit, previously organised as the Reservoir Management Surveillance Summit (RMSS), is a bi-annual event by PETRONAS for the industry. In collaboration with SPE, the programme will include holistic solutions and perspectives from subsurface and surface facilities in terms of technology deployment, disciplines of execution and most importantly, seamless integration of all parties from subsurface to point of export.
