General Information

SPE Workshops provide opportunities for sharing and exchanging technical knowledge among a group of experts. They combine presentations from scheduled speakers with ample opportunities for discussion through question-and-answer and break-out sessions. The short planning cycle for this type of meeting is ideal for the selection of subjects/topics that are of topical interest. Workshops concentrate on current best practice i.e. “How are we doing it now?”

Workshops are governed by the SPE Board of Directors under the SPE Meetings Policy and are monitored by the Technical Programming and Meetings Sub-Committee of the Board.  All proposed topics are submitted to the SPE Technical Directors for approval.

On-site at a Workshop

Note-taking at the workshop is encouraged.  Attendees are required to attend all sessions for the duration of the workshop.  Attendees will take coffee breaks, luncheons and dinners together to promote informal discussion.

Registrants will receive a Certificate of Attendance, and usually Continuing Education Units, for participation in a Workshop.

Following the workshop, attendees will have access to a shared drive folder where the presentations (for which SPE has received permission for), Scribe’s Report and photographs that have been taken during the workshop can be downloaded for a limited period only.
