Business and Leadership Committee

About the Committee

The role of the committee is to provide venues for professional growth in addition to technical development opportunities. It is also charged with identifying gaps between the nontechnical skills that members need and those currently provided by SPE, and making recommendations to fill these gaps. The committee’s recommendations should leverage existing committee structures and programs, where possible. The Business and Leadership Committee comprises up to 12 members.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must have an interest in nontechnical skills and training for engineers in the oil and gas industry
  • SPE membership

Expected Time Commitment

  • Three-year term
  • Attendance at one physical meeting during ATCE annually
  • Additional meetings via teleconference will be held eight times per year
  • Estimated time commitment per month is approximately two to four hours

Deliverables and Expectations

  • Actively engage in committee functions, including meetings and educational sessions, to achieve the goals of the committee
  • Recommend ways to share information, stimulate ideas, and coordinate initiatives aimed at meeting the industry’s needs in developing professional competencies
  • Available to discuss matters with other committee members
