Iain Percival, SPE, has been named an honorary professor of petroleum engineering at the University of Aberdeen. Upon retiring in 2006 after more than 30 years at Shell, Percival was invited by the heads of the schools of geosciences and engineering to help design the university’s undergraduate petroleum engineering degree program. The program began in 2008. Percival holds a BSc degree with honors in geology from the University of Aberdeen, a MEng degree in petroleum engineering from Heriot-Watt University, and an MBA from Henley Management College.
