ANJANI KUMAR, SPE, has been promoted to vice president–consulting, support, and training at Calgary, Alberta, Canada-based Computer Modelling Group (CMG). Kumar joined CMG in 2005 as a reservoir simulation engineer and was promoted in 2009 to manager–consulting, support, and training. He has more than 13 years of reservoir engineering experience both in the field and at CMG, and specializes in heavy-oil recovery processes, chemical enhanced oil recovery, and unconventional oil and gas reservoir simulation. Kumar has authored several technical papers, serves on the editorial committee of SPE’s Journal of Canadian Petroleum Technology and on SPE’s Charles F. Rand Memorial Gold Medal Award Committee. He holds an MS degree in chemical engineering from the University of Calgary and a bachelor of technology degree in petroleum engineering from the Indian School of Mines.
