Buru Energy has started drilling at its Sunbeam 1 well in Permit EP 129, 85 km southeast of Derby, Western Australia. It plans to drill the well to a total depth of 1200 m and is targeting conventional oil reservoirs in the early Permian-aged Grant formation. The target is thought to contain channel sand reservoir intervals enclosed by argillaceous siltstone. Buru (100%) is the operator of the permit.
