Sophie Zurquiyah, SPE, was appointed CEO at CGG. The nomination will become effective after the company’s annual general meeting to be held in April. Zurquiyah was previously COO and senior executive vice president at CGG in charge of the geology, geophysics, and reservoir division. She joined CGG in 2013 after working at Schlumberger for 22 years holding global executive positions in France, US, and Brazil, including vice president of sustaining engineering, general manager for south Latin America region, CIO, and human resources director for oilfield services. Zurquiyah is a graduate of École Centrale de Paris and holds a master’s degree in numerical analysis from the Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris 6) and a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Colorado.
