GE’s ZeeWeed 700B ultrafiltration membrane offers seawater pretreatment for injection and solids removal in offshore oil and gas applications. They are blended polyethersulphone membranes that can stay permanently hydrophilic, thus reducing fouling tendencies. It uses multibore fibers, does not require air scouring, and operates at a lower transmembrane pressure with lower energy requirements than single-bore fibers.
