Africa Energy, a Canadian oil and gas firm, appointed Garrett Soden as its president and CEO. Soden has international corporate development experience as a senior executive of various public companies in the natural resources sector. He has worked for Lundin Group, Africa Energy’s parent company, for the last decade and is currently a non-executive director of Etrion, Gulf Keystone Petroleum, Panoro, and Petropavlovsk. Soden was previously chairman and CEO of RusForest, CFO of Etrion and PetroFalcon. He has also served as a senior policy advisor to the US Secretary of Energy.
Soden holds a BSc honors degree from the London School of Economics and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
