How to Maximize Your Virtual Conference Experience

Welcome to SPE’s First Virtual International Conference and Exhibition on Health, Safety, Environment, and Sustainability

 

We are excited to have you join us for SPE’s first Virtual International Conference and Exhibition on Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability.

Dates, Time and Length of the Conferences

The SPE virtual HSES Conference experience

  • Will be 5 days of live access, 27 – 31 July 2020
  • Sessions will go live at Colombia Time (UTC -5:00)
    Over the dates of the conference, Colombia and Houston share the same time zone
  • Access to the virtual conferences and exhibition continues to be available until 29 October 2020.

Access to the Virtual Conferences

Attendees who registered by 31 July received an email from spe_reply@kenes-group.com or spe.registration@kenes.com with their credentials.

Beginning on 3 August, new registrants will receive an email from registration@spe.org.

If you cannot find your credentials to access the virtual platform, please contact registration@spe.org.

The email contains your unique credentials and password to begin your virtual conference experience.

The preferred browser is Google Chrome. We strongly recommend using Chrome for an optimal experience.

Social Media

Chat about and follow the conferences beforehand. Tweet during the event using #WeAreSPE alongside #LACPEC2020 and #SPEhse to be featured in the Twitter wall.  Invite your friends, peers, and colleagues to join you at the conferences.

When to First Access the Virtual Conference Platform

The secure virtual platform went live the day before the event, on Sunday, 26 July 2020 at 9:00am Colombia Time (UTC -5:00). 

How to Prepare for the Virtual Conference

From the virtual lobby, go to your user profile.

Add a photo and update your contact information to make your conference networking experience more engaging and memorable.

Be prepared to interact and engage. Review the Virtual Event Code of Conduct before the event.

Use the receive credentials that you received in an email from spe_reply@kenes-group.com, spe.registration@kenes.com or registration@spe.org.

 

Entering the Virtual Lobby and Accessing the Conference Components

From the virtual lobby you can access:

Continue to:

  • Engage and interact with presenters during discussions by using the "Send a Comment to Presenter" feature.
  • Network with your colleagues and E&P professionals through the virtual Lounge and Exhibition.
  • View the Attendee List.  Harness the power of virtual networking with professionals from across the globe.

Technical Sessions

All technical presentations occured at their specified Colombia Time (UTC -5:00) and will remain available on-demand for 90 days post-event, until 29 October. All recordings of the live Q&As associated with each session are also available. 

ePosters

Explore ePosters for the latest information and knowledge sharing. Chat with authors during and after the conference.

Live Sessions

Hear from the game changers during the Opening Ceremony, Executive Plenary Session, LACPEC Panel Sessions, HSES Plenary and Sessions, and HSES Closing Ceremony. More than 13 special sessions!

To find the recordings of the live sessions, either go to Live Sessions or browse the calendar under the Technical Sessions kiosk located at the lobby.

Bookmarking and Following Preferred Presentations

Within the Lives Sessions, save your favorite special sessions to your "Followings" within your user profile.

Within the Technical Sessions, save your favorite technical presentations or sessions to your “Bookmarks” within your calendar user profile. Additionally, you can print the information about the presentation and share the presentation information to your colleagues.

 

Exhibition

Once you choose one of the 10 booths, you will see a marquee message, the exhibitor’s video, resources panel, their logo, and their interaction panel. 

  • Chat with the exhibitor and with other participants. This feature will be unattended during the on-demand period of time. Select "Submit an Inquiry" to contact the exhibitor. 
  • Schedule a 1:1 meeting with the exhibitor
  • Send an email to the exhibitor (during and after the live conference)
  • View and download resources

Lounge

Visit the virtual Lounge during breaks and see who is connected.  Make sure that you have personalized your user profile to maximize your networking experience.

Chat, start video calls, message and exchange v-cards with like-minded peers who are connected at the same time you are.

View the list of all participants.

About Your Proceedings

You have perpetual access to the 250+ proceedings of both technical conferences in OnePetro®. Your unique access code is available in the registration email coming from spe_reply@kenes-group.com or spe.registration@kenes.com, along with your credentials.

If you register on or after 3 August, your credentials and proceedings code will come from registration@spe.org. If you need a copy of your proceedings code, please email registration@spe.org.

Papers went live on Monday, 20 July. Released presentations will be available in OnePetro® by the end of August. All recordings will also be available in OnePetro® after 29 October.
