Agenda

A Keynote presentation is selected by the conference committee as it is one of the highest rated abstracted submitted in the call for papers. In this keynote paper (SPE-209475) observation of magnesium rich calcite deposits occurring within subsurface safety valves (SSSV) and topside process vessels is discussed. The background to its occurrence in the North Sea and Caspian assets, challenges to normal operations and some of the chemical solutions evaluated to control fouling by this “pseudo scale” are presented.
