SPE Virtual Workshop: Artificial Lift and Production Enhancement Through Electrical Submersible Pump 20 - 22 Oct 2020 Virtual Workshop [MYT, UTC +8 ]

The Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP), while may be expensive, is an efficient and reliable artificial lift technology for lifting moderate to high volumes of fluids. Smaller size ESPs with alternative deployment methods can provide substantial cost saving opportunities for smaller production. ESPs account for almost one-third of the total artificial lift systems globally. ESP application continues to grow worldwide as reliability, solids and gas handling capabilities improve, especially in mature fields. ESP technology has advanced incredibly since its inception, with several improvements and innovations made to meet clients’ ever-increasing demands.

The workshop will focus on ESP design and production optimisation, alternative deployment methods, technology advancements, run-life challenges and cost-effective solutions in challenging oil price environment. Participants will have the opportunity to broaden their understanding of current ideas and processes of ESP systems, and for industry practitioners to share and discuss best practices, lessons learnt, and to introduce ESP as the most effective, current and future solution to optimise green and mature fields production.

This workshop will address the ESP life cycle management; from defining operating requirements through ESP equipment design and selection, to deployment, operation and post failure analysis. Discussions will also focus on standards and practices, current technical challenges and mitigations,  surveillance and optimisation, operational efficiency, electricity aspect on ESPs, and artificial intelligence amongst other important topics.
