Greg Lalicker is the Chief Executive Officer of Hilcorp Energy Company, assuming this role in 2017. Prior to joining Hilcorp, he was with BHP Petroleum in Midland, Houston, London and Melbourne as well as McKinsey & Company where he worked in their Houston, Abu Dhabi and London offices. He joined Hilcorp’s leadership team in 2006 as Executive Vice President Exploration and Production and was promoted to President in 2011. Greg graduated as a Petroleum Engineer from the University of Tulsa in 1982.  He also holds a Masters of Business Administration and a law degree.

Speaker(s) Ali Yousef

Dr. Ali A. Yousef is principal scientist and Chief Technologist of Reservoir Engineering Technology Division at the Saudi Aramco’s Upstream Advanced Research Center. He has more than 30 years of experience in upstream research and technology. Since joining Saudi Aramco, he has been involved in several applied research projects focusing on Waterflooding, Improved Oil Recovery (IOR), Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), and Advanced Reservoir Evaluation/Monitoring. He is currently overseeing the implementation of several mega scale pilots on CO2-EOR, SmartWater and field deployment of electromagnetic (EM) based technologies, advanced tracers, magnetic nanomappers for improved/enhanced oil recovery, and reservoir evaluation & monitoring application, and also zero liquid discharge (ZLD) produced water management. He led the development of Upstream sustainability R&D including CO2 mineralization, H2S to H2 conversion, and geothermal energy roadmaps.

Dr. Yousef has written over 120 conference papers, 60 journal publications, 2 text books, and has 61 granted patents, and more than 50 pending patent applications. He chaired several SPE Workshops and Forums, helped organizing several petroleum engineering related conferences, and taught courses on waterflooding and Improved/Enhanced Oil Recovery.

Dr. Yousef has received the 2015 Saudi Aramco President and CEO Excellence Award and the 2016 SPE IOR Pioneer Award. He was recognized by the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques in 2018, received World Oil 2020 and 2022 awards for best water management program, 2023 Special Meritorious Award for Engineering Innovation, 2023 Aramco Excellence Award, and 2023 Suzanne West Environmental Excellence Award for successful field demonstration. He is the recipient of the 2021 SPE Distinguished Membership, and also 2023 SPE Distinguished Service Award for his outstanding contributions to the society/profession. He has also been elected as 2021 Fellow of Energy Institute (FEI), the highest level of EI recognition awarded to Energy’s leaders and influencers.

Yousef holds a BS degree in chemical engineering from KFUPM and MS and PhD degrees in petroleum engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
