About the Symposium

Welcome to the SPE Thermal Well Integrity and Production Symposium.

Well integrity requires attention to all stages of a well's lifecycle. From initial well-pad and well planning, to well design, construction, start-up and operation/production, any workover, or interventions work, and eventually abandonment. This requires input and collaboration between a large number of groups and individuals at any company, as well as externally with service providers, equipment manufacturers, and regulators. It is our job and responsibility to ensure that wells are properly designed and that potential issues are brought forward to ensure our energy resources are produced in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner.

This year's event will continue to address and build on the well integrity topics that have been a mainstay of this event over the years: such as regulations, well design, various tests and trials, lessons-learned, and mitigating measures. It will also highlight new and innovative well integrity technologies to design, construct, evaluate, monitor, and repair thermal wells.

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a not-for-profit organization. Income from this event will be invested back into SPE to support many other Society programs. When you attend an SPE event, you help provide even more opportunities for industry professionals to enhance their technical and professional competence. Scholarships, certification, the Distinguished Lecturer program, and SPE's energy education program Energy4me are just a few examples of programs that are supported by SPE.
