Blessed Amoah

Blessed Amoah is a Petroleum Engineering master’s student at the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy, University of Oklahoma (OU); my Bachelor of Science degree is in Petroleum Engineering. As a graduate research assistant, my research experience hovers around petrophysics, geomechanics, hydraulic fracturing and microseismic data acquisition and processing. Currently I am researching into the differences in fracture mechanism when supercritical CO2 and water are used as injectates: application to geological carbon sequestration.

I love leadership and volunteerism; I engage in these whenever I get the opportunity as I see them as major ways to build society. In 2021, I was the Petrobowl Chair for the Society of Petroleum Engineers at OU, and in 2022, I became a member of the Petrobowl team. We won the Petrobowl Championship in both years. Moreover, I was the president and vice president for the Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts (SPWLA) at OU. I have been involved in several volunteering activities as a member of SPE and SPWLA and as student at OU.

My hobbies are reading, meditation and watching documentaries; I enjoy reading different genres of books, especially those that contribute to the fulfilment of my purpose. When the weather is nice, I like to run.
