Session 1: Turning Today’s Carbon Capture and Storage Challenges into Opportunities
Session Chairpersons Heather Leahey, Enverus; Sarah Saltzer, Stanford University

The goal of this session is to brainstorm current issues along the carbon capture and storage (CCS) value chain and determine what action industry can take to overcome these challenges. Participants will engage with panelists representing operational, regulatory and investor perspectives and collaborate with peers to strategize around future challenges facing the industry.

Session 2: Scaling the Source – Capture and Transportation Technologies
Session Chairpersons David Dell'Osso, Trace Midstream; Danielle Flagg, Sargent & Lundy; Kenneth Haney, California Resources Corporation

This session will focus on technologies and solutions that have the potential to drive down the cost of capture and enable more emissions to be addressable by CCS projects, as well as the transport technologies to connect those emissions to sequestration at scale.

Session 3: Shaping and Scaling Storage Solutions
Session Chairpersons Lianne Armpriester, Chevron New Energies; Kevin Bush, Tallgrass; Matthew Dahan, Denbury

Learnings from decades of developing and managing CO2 floods serves as a foundation for establishing permanent CO2 sequestration hubs across the globe. However, improved storage site characterization along with innovation in modeling and data acquisition techniques will be required to unlock the potential storage resource required to deliver on global net zero ambitions.

Session 4: How Can We Inject and Store Millions of CO2 Safely and Effectively?
Session Chairpersons Neeraj Gupta, Battelle; Caroline Huet , Oxy; Robin Ozah, Talos Energy

Development of large scale CCS projects with storage of 1gigaton (GT) CO2 and beyond will require two key risks elements amongst many to be adressed. Risks such as legacy wells and Geological Containment are technically and economically challenging.

The session will focus on managing legacy wells and effective containment (vertical and within reservoirs).

Session 5: How to Accelerate CCS Past the First Gigaton of Storage
Session Chairpersons Neeraj Gupta, Battelle; Kenneth Haney, California Resources Corporation; Amanda Livers-Douglas, Energy & Environmental Research Center

Looking beyond the first gigaton of storage, this session will explore source and storage challenges to scaling and expanding global development of CCS, including a discussion of what global development of CCS will look like in 2040 and 2050. This session will also consider adaptive development strategies and regulatory frameworks necessary to facilitate operational flexibility for projects looking to add sources and increase volumes.
