Introduction to Oil and Gas Exploration and Production (ITOGEP)

Course Description

The intention of this course is to bring the E&P industry to undergraduates and non-technical and technical graduate in order to promote and attract high caliber personnel to the industry as well as help those within the industry have a deeper understanding of the overall business.

It will also be of interest to non-technical personnel working in service industries to better understand their business dealings with E&P companies.

Why Attend

Learn the history and how the industry developed as well as being able to communicate in a more effective way in the industry with respect to understanding how the building blocks come together and the jargon that goes with it.

Who Attends

This course is for undergraduates exploring their future, graduates working in non E&P companies who deal with E&P companies, recent graduates in E&P and oil industry service companies, graduates wanting to get a better overall understanding of the business, financial industry employees dealing with E&P companies, and legal employees dealing with E&P companies.

CEUs

0.8 or 1.6 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) are awarded for this 1 or 2 -day course.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be received no later than 14 days prior to the course start date. Cancellations made after the 14-day window will not be refunded. Refunds will not be given due to no show situations.

SPE reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule courses at will. Notification of changes will be made as quickly as possible; please keep this in mind when arranging travel, as SPE is not responsible for any fees charged for cancelling or changing travel arrangements.

We reserve the right to substitute course instructors as necessary.

Instructor

Anastasis Kokkinos has 30 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry with a focus on full field development and lifecycle costing. His experience covers onshore, offshore, deepwater and subsea, conventional and unconventional developments. He has worked closely with subsurface/reservoir teams and senior management to ensure integrated field development plans. He also has expert knowledge of IHS/CERAs QUE$TOR field development and costing software, running training programs on behalf of IHS/CERA.
