Oilfield Microbiology: The Fundamentals of Targeting, Testing and Treating

Disciplines: Completions | Production and Operations | Reservoir

Course Description

This course provides a baseline understanding of the role microbes play in oil and gas systems and will cover baseline tools for evaluating completions programs, asset management, corrosion inhibition, water management, pipeline integrity, and reservoir management. Attendees will be introduced to problematic microbes and the effects they have on our systems. Microbial testing technologies will be reviewed to establish shared understanding of key benefits, core uses and strategic data outputs. The final half of the day explores a critical evaluation of how to employ biocides, surveillance and interpretation to mitigate or manage microbial related risks.
