The Bleeding Edge of RTA Group (BERG)

The Bleeding Edge of RTA Group (BERG) is an SPE Study group dedicated to promoting the value of Rate Transient Analysis and petroleum engineering. This group consists of members from academia, industry, and the SPE.
Our goal: to facilitate the growth of tools, techniques, innovations, and disruptive technologies that promote the field of petroleum engineering and creates value to those involved in the extraction of oil and gas.
BERG will hold Virtual SPE Workshops, provide SPE Case Studies and Short Webinars/Vignettes, and is creating an SPE Data Repository.
Current Projects
BERG is currently looking for data submissions for an SPE Data Repository which would promote better quality resources for academic/training/industry to conduct research and testing in forming the future discoveries and techniques of RTA.
The data we are requesting primarily includes those inputs required to perform rate transient analysis, which ideally should include the following: rates, surface and/or bottom hole pressure, wellbore and artificial lift configuration, reservoir properties, and some basic completion information such as lateral length and number of clusters.
Read more of about our objectives and goals as to the problem we are hoping to solve, how we are hoping to solve it, and what predetermined anonymization considerations we believe could encourage more corporate partners to participate in this worthwhile endeavor.
