SPE membership term is January to December. New members joining after 1 September pay for the next year's fees and receive the remaining months of the current year at no additional cost.
- Pay online by credit card in USD: SPE accepts VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Diner's Club.
- Automatic Renewal Option: Professional Members can select this option to automatically renew their membership annually in December. This helps ensure uninterrupted services, eliminate the need to remember renewal dates, and reduce the risk of unintentional lapses in benefits.
- Installment option: Available for renewing members only. Opens annually in November. The installment option can be selected during the renewal process online. A monthly option is provided for members paying $130 and a quarterly option is available for all other rates.
- Check or money order*: Must be from a US Bank with a 9-digit ABA routing number in US dollars only. Checks from non-US banks will be returned as uncollectible.
- Paypal: Contact service@spe.org to request instructions for submitting payment using PayPal.
- Wire transfer: Contact service@spe.org.
- Multi-Year Option: Professional members can lock in the current years fee rate by paying up to three years.
- Lifetime membership: The cost of a lifetime membership is 20 times the highest currently applicable dues rate (NOT necessarily the rate currently applicable to you). If you are interested in this option, contact service@spe.org.
- Company bulk payment: Payments for your employees must be made before 30 December and your company will need to register. This option helps to alleviate costly bank fees, currency conversions, and processing of employee expense reports. Note: Bulk dues program participants are exempt from earning the Century Club award.

Currency Exchange Rates
Acceptable currency codes are AUD, AED, CAD, EUR, GBP, MYR, RUB, and USD. Any payments attempted in other currencies cannot be accepted.
Dynamic Rates
Fee Waiver
SPE offers a membership fee waiver for renewing members who are facing any of the following circumstances:
- Permanent Disability
- Unemployment/Furloughed
- Active military duty
- Compulsory post-graduation military service.
Requirements:
- Submit a written request to service@spe.org or by mail to the address provided below.
- Requests can be submitted beginning 1 December. We do not accept requests prior to December for the next year's membership term.
- For military service, please provide a copy of your Call to Duty letter.
- Fee waivers can be granted for 2 consecutive years only.
- Waivers must be requested annually.
- Waivers are not available for New Members.
