PetroBowl® Competition
About PetroBowl®
The PetroBowl® competition matches SPE Student Chapter teams against one another in a fast-paced quiz competition covering technical and nontechnical aspects of the oil and gas industry.
Regional Championships
As of 2026, there will be no International PetroBowl Championship at the SPE Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition (ATCE). Performance in your Regional Championships will no longer qualify you to an international round, though regional winners will be recognized by SPE International.
This is considering the challenges players have to attend the in-person Championship including VISA restrictions and increasing travel costs for players. During this time SPE and the Student Development Committee are exploring new approaches that may allow greater international representation while maintaining the integrity and global inclusivity of the contest.
To participate in the program, please look out for your Regional Championships which will be held across the year.
