Course Description

 This course is a combination of:

 -Introduction to Coiled Tubing: Equipment and Operations Design
 -Coiled Tubing Technical Training

Day1:  An Introduction to Coiled Tubing, equipment, and operations design. Topics:

• What is Coiled Tubing?
• Coiled Tubing string manufacturing and history
• Coiled Tubing Design-Execution-Evaluation cycle
• CT operating categories by pressure rating as per API – well control stack configuration
• Job design basics and calculations
• Coiled Tubing Equipment
• Downhole Tools
• CT pipe management
• TFM design and simulation scenarios
• CT Applications - Sand Clean out design.

Objectives: Attendees will gain a basic knowledge of the Coiled Tubing equipment, and string, its capabilities and basics of job design and operation planning.

Day 2: This day will aim toward deepening your knowledge on the technical design and specific applications. Topics:

• Coiled Tubing Design-Execution-Evaluation cycle
• Tubing Forces design – advanced applications
• Fishing, setting tools, extended reach, shifting tools.
• Coiled Tubing advanced string design
• Hourglass taper, high strength light strings, quench-tempered strings
• What is the application for each string
• Coiled Tubing Fishing applications (BHA, design considerations, evaluation)
• Coiled Tubing downhole motors and special tools applications
• Cementing through Coiled Tubing
• Extended reach operations

Objectives: Attendees will gain knowledge on Coiled Tubing design, modeling, tools, and more advanced applications.

Why Attend

On day 1, attendees will learn the basics of the coiled tubing equipment, the coiled tubing string and downhole tools. They will learn the basic engineering concepts, calculations, and considerations to design, plan, execute and evaluate their operation, both from the engineering and practical scenarios. Practical scenarios for both land (conventional and unconventional) and offshore operating environments are discussed. Proper planning of a coiled tubing operation is fundamental for its success.

On day 2, attendees will learn about more complex coiled tubing applications, where both wellbore and reservoir engineering considerations must be accounted for, as fundamental part of the operation. Wellbore clean outs, cementing thru coiled tubing, matrix acidizing, tubing conveyed perforating (TCP), coiled tubing logging and extended reach wells (unconventional).
